FAQ
Why did you switch from Patreon?
To cut a really long story short, the previous platform just wasn’t doing it for me. The platform and my creator page itself was uneditable, tags were unorganised and made things difficult to find, and beyond basic tier perks, features available for those of you guys who support were pretty limited. As the channel has grown and so have our interests and goals for LKTV, I also felt it necessary to create new tiers which reflected this which were more user-friendly, something the previous platform didn’t allow.
LKTV is no longer JUST K-Pop, but a hub where people who like the same things can come together regardless of what those things are and find a community who love it as much as they do. This website embodies that vision that I have for the growth of our community.
What are the payment options?
Currently, FourthWall have stated that for memberships, supported payment options are Credit / Debit Card, Apple Pay, and also Google Pay.
PayPal will be added as a payment option soon, but is not currently available. For those who only have PayPal as a payment option, there is a workaround though in the meantime whilst PayPal native functionality becomes available! If you link your PayPal account in Google Pay, then select Google Pay as your preferred payment method, this has worked (please note: may not work for all countries / locations).
If using Apple Pay, it is recommended to sign up using your Apple Device or at the very least, on Safari. If using an iPhone / Mac and your Apple Pay is linked directly to your device, the website will register this and offer it as a payment option.
If using Google Pay, it is recommended to sign up using the Google Chrome browser as Google Pay will be registered with the signed-in account. For Android device users, any browser on the mobile (but preferably Chrome) should work when completing sign-up.
Payment security? Payment / user details collection & handling
Regarding member security both down to payments and information collection and handling, this site operates at the same level as Patreon does. All payments are securely managed by a well-known and secure e-commerce payment platform called ‘Stripe’, and the only thing I am ever able to see as a creator is your email that you subscribed with (for contact purposes), and nothing else. Payment details and other crucial information like your website account password will not be stored on the site or visible to me. The only things you will ever be asked by this site is for your email, to create a password to login, and to select a preferred payment method for your subscription.
How does the subscription work? Tiers, renewal dates, and tier changes
Like the previous platform, if you look at our membership tiers on the home page, these provide you with a variety of different content options to suit your tastes. By subscribing to these tiers, this will unlock content for you stored on the website for the whole month (please note: in any case, you should be sure about which tier you would like to sign up to before you do, just to make sure that your expectations are correctly managed).
In addition to this, your subscription starts on the day that you become a member, and will continue for a month from that date. No more auto re-subscription on the 1st of each month! Once you’ve become a member, you’ll see a profile section in the ‘Members Area’ part of the website, and here you can manage your payment methods, and also tier change options.
If you ever wish to change your tier, you can manage that in your profile / billing section, and if you do it mid-month, the site simply just asks you to pay the outstanding amount required to reach that tier. In this profile / billing section, you can also cancel your subscription if need be!
How can I find content on the new site? Embedded archive and more
Some of you who were familiar with how we used to operate on the previous platform will know that we had an archive linked to all of our content. That will be retiring, as we now have the archive embedded here directly in the website! If you head to the top of the page on desktop (left hand side menu on mobile / tablet) and see the ‘K-Pop, Drama and Anime’ tabs, this is our archive and by far the easiest way of sorting through everything the website has on it. If it doesn’t show here, it’s not on here!
In the ‘Members Area’ section, through the feed, you can also search through content-specific tags as well if you’d like. In addition, this website has a ‘series’ or playlist feature. All video content is organised into these playlists making watching certain shows and finding content super easy for you guys.
Did you create this website?
Yes! Whilst this site is mine and I own and operate everything / manage and customise it all, one thing to note is that this site is actually backed by a platform called FourthWall who have established themselves as both a merch and memberships platform in recent years. They have a dedicated creator customer service team, which means that if there is ever an issue that I can’t solve or something that I don’t know, similar to the previous platform, I have someone to defer to! lktv.au is my domain though, and myself and my administrators run and manage this site and all content which goes onto it.
If I have an issue or a question, how can I get in contact?
Thankfully, we have a few points of contact in the event that you might have a support request, an issue, or just a question regarding the site or your account. These details can be found below.
Primary points of contact:
Email: contact@support.lktv.au (This is Fourthwall support for this website directly)
Discord: https://discord.gg/lktv (will typically respond within a few hours - moderators and admins / Lok manage website specific support channels)
